Every makes turn in 30

Matt Every’s performance is exactly what a lot of players expected from someone this week at The Greenbrier. Every, who is in his rookie year on the PGA TOUR after a stellar collegiate career at the University of Florida, just made the turn in 30 and is 6 under through his first 10 holes.

That has Every, who one-putted seven of his first nine greens, just one shot off the current lead. It also has him headed toward a possible career low -- he shot 63 in the opening round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, where he tied for eighth for his best career finish.

As for this round, Every has missed just two fairways and two greens in regulation.

The front nine is also playing about 1 1/2 strokes easier than the back, where Every started, so more birdies could be on the way. Stay tuned. -- Brian Wacker
