MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the first time in tournament history, a pair of James Beard Award finalists will be onsite offering fans an off-the-menu culinary experience. Memphis born chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman, owners of Enjoy A|M Restaurant Group have partnered with the tournament to unveil Birdies & Bubbles, which will be located between the 14th and 16th holes at TPC Southwind. Nestled amongst the trees to the right of the 16th hole, Birdies & Bubbles will provide “foodies” the perfect spot to relax and enjoy custom creations from these two award-winning chefs.
“Andy and Michael are not only well regarded in Memphis but around the country, and we are excited to showcase their talents during the WGC. Memphis’ food scene has exploded in recent years and to partner with these two chefs is just another way to improve the onsite fan experience.” said Darrell Smith, Executive Director of the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. “With an elevated player field, TPC Southwind will become much more traveled by fans, and this area of the golf course will undoubtedly provide some of the most exciting golf of the week.”
Fans will be greeted with a distinct farm to table look with ample shade in the most picturesque location on the golf course. In addition to a menu that will display their Italian roots, the award-winning chefs will offer innovative and refreshing beverage options, including an original Frose recipe that can only be purchased at the tournament.
“We have always loved the PGA TOUR’s stop in Memphis and the way it gives back to the community we love. With it being elevated to a World Golf Championships event, we loved the idea of getting involved and producing food and drinks that are unique to this event and showcasing some of the best food our city has to offer,” Hudman and Ticer said. “We think we’ve accomplished that with Birdies & Bubbles, and we’re looking forward to unveiling what we think will be an unforgettable experience on the course for fans to stop, sip and enjoy while they traverse the course.”
Stemming from Italian roots and southern inspiration, Michael Hudman and Andy Ticer, who were born and raised in Memphis and grew up childhood friends, have created six restaurants with unique styles, personalities and menus. Starting in 2008, after years of studying, traveling and practicing the craft of cooking, chefs Michael and Andy partnered on their first restaurant in East Memphis, Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen. In the 11 years since, they’ve added four additional restaurants in Memphis – Hog and Hominy, Catherine & Mary’s and The Gray Canary as well as Josephine Estelle in New Orleans.
Birdies & Bubbles is the latest new fan enhancement unveiled by the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. The tournament previously unveiled 901 Boulevard and The Pit, which will feature Memphis’ best food trucks and barbecue.
