TPC Boston is ready for the 2018 #DellTechChamp
Brooks Koepka had to do what none of the young guns have had to do yet in their careers – hold off a chasing Tiger Woods in the final round of a major championship. And oh, what a chase it was. Woods, who finished two shots back of Koepka, started the day four shots back of the 54-hole leader but was within just one after stiffing his approach into the par-4 15th. But as Koepka has continually done to this point his career, he soared the highest when challenged the most, hitting a spectacular approach into the 15th and 16th for back-to-back birdies to seal his second major championship victory this season.
Woods, who posted his lowest final round score in a major with a 6-under 64 Sunday, is now No. 20 in the FedExCup standings as he prepares for his first return to the FedExCup Playoffs since 2013. How ‘bout that, huh?
Both Koepka and Woods will be back in Boston in two weeks for the Dell Technologies Championship along with defending champion Justin Thomas and World No. 1 Dustin Johnson. Expect more fireworks in Boston like we saw last year as the top-100 in the FedExCup standings return to New England #BOOM
Nine local charities gathered at Fenway Park on August 1 for the inaugural Dell Technologies Fenway Charity Shootout, where each charity formed two-man teams with a local media member in a closest-to-the-pin competition to compete for $25,000 donation to their charity. The Hockomock Area YMCA won $25K after WBZ-TV Sports Director Steve Burton stuck the 148-yard shot to 12 feet for the victory! #SoGoodSoGood
In honor of Arnold Palmer, who dedicated his life to the health, well-being and development of children, the Dell Technologies Championship will once again be hosting the Arnie’s March, a 5K walk, on August 25, 2018 to benefit the MassGeneral Hospital for Children Cancer Center. Whether you want to create a fundraising team, make a donation or participate in the march, everyone’s welcome, the price is right (free), and it takes an army like Arnie’s for us to one day find a cure for this dreaded disease. There will be a celebratory lunch courtesy of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Ben & Jerry’s afterwards, and who wants to miss that? Registration starts at 9:30 AM.
