When FootJoy set out to create its latest TOUR-quality shoe, designers turned to the best players in the world for inspiration. Elite players like Charley Hoffman, Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Webb Simpson and Kevin Kisner participated in a multi-year collaboration that resulted in the recent launch of the new Tour-S range of footwear.

The Tour-S is built from the ground up to provide players with power, precision and a high-level of comfort. The power starts with a wide, stable foundation, which FootJoy calls a PowerPlate. This sturdy, yet lightweight outsole is created from a cutting-edge polymer and features an integrated mid-foot plate made from a fiberglass carbon weave. Nine LaunchPods are strategically placed around the perimeter of the outsole to provide additional structure and help the foot to cover a larger surface area. In fact, the LaunchPods sit so wide on the outsole that the edges are visible from a top-down view of the shoe. According to FootJoy, this stable base allows players to efficiently transfer weight and power during the swing.

"It feels like a wider platform than I'm used to, like I have more ground coverage and contact and a much more stable base," said Kevin Kisner.

The Tour-S helps to deliver precision through several support features. The first is a new PowerStrap, a molded piece that is integrated into the shoe's upper. When the laces are tightened, this strap wraps around the foot to provide lateral and medial support, reducing the risk of the foot moving in the shoe during the swing. Enhancing this locked-in feeling are a collar and tongue that mold to the foot for a precise fit.

For years, more support and stability often meant rigid and uncomfortable shoes. To create a comfortable shoe without sacrificing performance, the Tour-S utilizes a dual-density polyurethane Fit-Bed to cushion the foot. A high-performance luxury leather upper from Pittards® of England offers a rich feel, finish and two year waterproof warranty.

"From the moment I tested this shoe, I knew it provided the perfect blend of comfort and stability for me, especially on my left side as I move through the ball," said Rafa Cabrera Bello of Spain.

FootJoy has long been known for its timeless saddle and wingtip designs, but the Tour-S gives the brand a TOUR-level shoe with a sporty silhouette and a cleated outsole to complement the casual look of its spikeless Pro/SL shoe. A series of sweeping ridges on both sides of the Tour-S feed into the sleek and athletic aesthetic and the camo pattern on the tongue gives it a refined edge.

The Tour-S is now available in three lace-up colorways: Understated white and black options, along with an eye-catching white/blue/lime design. A Boa model is also available in a white/dark grey/orange colorway.
