Memorial Day in the U.S. pays homage to the members of the Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending the country. Just days before the national holiday, Puma Golf and Volition America have released the Volition America Golf Collection to support the Folds of Honor Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing education scholarships to spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled service members.
Over the past year, the apparel, footwear and accessories teams at Puma Golf worked with Volition America to design the co-branded collection of polos, T-shirts, pullovers, hats, and shoes for men, women, and juniors. The patriotic red, white, and blue color palette puts a stylish twist on the colors of the American flag with everything from simple solids to tonal stripes and bold patterns, the most eye-catching of which is the Volition Camo (below). The tone-on-tone pattern, available in blue or black, brings a modern edge to the collection with a nod to military apparel.
"At Puma Golf we are thrilled to be part of this unique collaboration with Volition America in support of the Folds of Honor," said Bob Philion, president and chief executive officer of Cobra Puma Golf. "The red, white and blue, Americana look hasn't really been seen in the golf space, and we are excited to own that category, and provide golfers the opportunity to support the troops and say 'I'm proud to be an American,' by rocking our stylish, performance-ready Volition America + Puma apparel."
Key pieces in the collection include high-tech polos and layering pieces, casual T-shirts, baseball-style hats and a custom version of Puma's brand new IGNITE Spikeless Sport DISC golf shoe (below). The predominately white shoe with red and blue accents features a trendy graphic print and the brand’s proprietary DISC laceless closure system.
"The team at Puma is lending their support and talents to create a collection that not only celebrates America and patriotism, but represents choice,” said Major Dan Rooney, founder of the Folds of Honor. “Golfers will now have the power to choose clothes, shoes and hats to wear that have a bigger purpose and support Folds of Honor's mission to provide scholarships to military families."
As part of the partnership, Major Rooney, a U.S. Air Force Reserve F-16 Fighter Pilot and PGA Professional, will serve as a brand ambassador for the Puma and Volition collaboration. Expect to see him sporting pieces from the collection at appearances throughout the year. Additionally, participants in Patriot Golf Day, a fundraiser that benefits the Folds of Honor, will have the chance to wear Volition America + Puma at more than 5,000 golf facilities across the country.
The first drop of the Volition America Golf Collection is now available online and at select retailers.
