Smylie Kaufman has inked a deal with ECCO that will see him lace up the Danish brand’s new Classic Lux shoe in 2017. Since turning professional, Kaufman has established himself as one of the best dressed players on the PGA TOUR. The 2015 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open winner is part of a crop of young players who are putting modern spins on classic looks, and this contemporary brogue-style shoe from ECCO is the perfect complement for his on-course style.
“ECCO Classic Lux represents everything I look for in a golf shoe,” said Kaufman. “It’s beautifully crafted, super comfortable and provides all the traction and stability that I need. Only ECCO Golf could design a shoe with this combination of great looks and key features."
The ECCO Classic Lux blends old school charm and style with new school comfort and technology. The stacked heel, wingtip design, and brogue detailing offer a vintage vibe while the pebbled texture on the quarter of the shoe adds an air of sophistication.
Arriving in three timeless colorways, the Classic Lux features a luxurious leather upper and a premium leather welt construction. The upper is fused to the outsole with a direct injected PU midsole. Without using glue or stitching, this revolutionary process is said to be the strongest way to attach the sole to the upper of the shoe. It also creates a water-tight seal while delivering flexibility and comfort. ECCO’s Hydromax technology provides additional weather resistance and helps to keep the leather soft and supple even after a trek through dew covered fairways or rainy conditions.
Completing the shoe is a lightweight TPU outsole with Champs cleats and strategically placed molded spikes for traction and stability.
