    Style Insider: FootJoy offers 14 million ways to customize new D.N.A. shoe

One of the biggest style trends to hit the PGA TOUR over the last few years has been custom shoes. Whether it's a tip of the cap to their universities or an exclamation point on a well put-together outfit, fashion conscious players like Billy Horschel, Justin Thomas and Luke Donald have been known to walk to the first tee in a pair of custom FootJoy Icon Shield Tips.

FootJoy has now extended custom options to its recently released second generation D.N.A. shoe through its MyJoys program. With MyJoys, amateurs and professionals alike can design their own D.N.A. shoe with a variety of custom options, including exotic print leathers, country flags, novelty icons, MLB and collegiate logos.

The D.N.A. MyJoys golf shoes will also feature three areas of customizable color and the largest size chart in golf ranging from 6 Narrow to 16 Wide and 7XW-12, 13XW. Additionally 12 new microfiber leathers will be added to the MyJoys program for use on the new D.N.A.: White Silver Sphinx, Black Silver Sphinx, Silver Fluid, White Patent, Blue Metal, Black Metal, Off White, Royal Blue, Platinum, Black, Red. All told, there are 14 million ways to customize FootJoy kicks through the MyJoys program.

“D.N.A. loyalists have been clamoring for a customizable version of the shoe since its initial launch nearly two years ago, so we’re excited to offer it as a part of our MyJoys Program,” said MyJoys Marketing Manager, Rita Lepage.

FootJoy’s new D.N.A. shoe is a follow-up to the brand’s popular first generation model that was launched in February 2014. Within three months, that shoe became the best selling shoe in golf. Improving on it was no easy feat.

“We were faced with the challenge of how to make our most feature-laden golf shoe even better and I believe we’ve accomplished that,” said VP of Product Design and Development worldwide, Doug Robinson. “With influence from our leading TOUR players we have upgraded the overall performance of the shoe while giving golfers the ability to add their own personal touch through the myriad of custom options in MyJoys.”

The D.N.A. possesses a sleek and modern silhouette. In order to achieve this low profile design, FootJoy moved the midsole inside the shoe and used an all-new NitroThin™ TPU outsole. This super thin, yet strong chassis, frames the soft FTF™ (Fine-Tuned Foam) internal midsole and delivers a high-performance combination of rigidity and flexibility. Attached to the outsole is FootJoy’s new TourLock™ cleat system that plays into the low profile design and provides top-shelf traction in all playing conditions.

From a comfort standpoint, the new D.N.A. features a 3D FoamCollar™ that molds to the ankle and locks it in place. The re-engineered SnugFit tongue utilizes thin, soft and breathable materials that conform to the top of the foot, which further locks the foot in place and minimizes foot movement during the swing.

Footjoy’s new D.N.A. shoe can be ordered now through the MyJoys program. Stock colorways have hit store shelves in both laced and BOA lacing system styles. The laced styles are available in white/silver, white/royal, and black/black while the BOA lacing system styles are available in white/white and black/black.
