In his first round at the RSM Classic, Kyoung-Hoon Lee hit 13 of 14 fairways and 16 of 18 greens in regulation, and finished the day without a bogey. Lee finished his day tied for 2nd at 6 under with Cameron Tringale and Rhein Gibson; Webb Simpson is in 1st at 7 under; and Hank Lebioda, Sebastián Muñoz, Nick Taylor, Rory Sabbatini, Alex Cejka, Tyler Duncan, Brian Harman, Scott Brown, and Scott Harrington are tied for 5th at 5 under.
On the par-5 seventh, Kyoung-Hoon Lee's approach shot set himself up for the birdie on the hole. This moved Kyoung-Hoon Lee to 2 under for the round.
On the 368-yard par-4 eighth hole, Lee reached the green in 2 and sunk a 16-foot putt for birdie. This was his 3rd under-par hole in a row and moved Lee to 3 under for the round.

At the 223-yard par-3 12th, Lee hit a tee shot 227 yards at the green, setting himself up for the 12-foot putt for birdie. This moved Lee to 5 under for the round.
After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 565-yard par-5 15th hole, Lee hit an approach shot from 230 yards to 14 feet, setting himself up for the birdie on the hole. This moved Lee to 6 under for the round.
