Brendon Todd hit 14 of 18 greens in regulation during his first round at the RSM Classic, finishing at 4 under for the tournament. Todd finished his day tied for 14th at 4 under; Webb Simpson is in 1st at 7 under; Kyoung-Hoon Lee, Cameron Tringale, and Rhein Gibson are tied for 2nd at 6 under; and Hank Lebioda, Sebastián Muñoz, Nick Taylor, Rory Sabbatini, Alex Cejka, Tyler Duncan, Brian Harman, Scott Brown, and Scott Harrington are tied for 5th at 5 under.
On the 417-yard par-4 first, Todd had a bogey after hitting the green in 3 and two putting, moving Todd to 1 over for the round.
After a drive to left side of the fairway on the par-5 seventh, Todd hit his 109 yard approach to 7 feet, setting himself up for a birdie. This moved Todd to even for the round.
After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 368-yard par-4 eighth hole, Todd had a 111 yard approach shot, setting himself up for the birdie. This moved Todd to 1 under for the round.
On the 418-yard par-4 10th hole, Todd reached the green in 2 and sunk a 16-foot putt for birdie. This moved Todd to 2 under for the round.
On the par-4 11th, Todd's 141 yard approach to 13 feet set himself up for the birdie on the hole. This moved Todd to 3 under for the round.
After a drive to the left side of the fairway on the 408-yard par-4 13th hole, Todd had a 130 yard approach shot, setting himself up for the birdie. This moved Todd to 4 under for the round.
