K.J. Choi comes back from a rocky start in round one of the RSM Classic

K.J. Choi hit 11 of 18 greens in regulation during his first round at the RSM Classic, and rebounded from a poor front to deliver a strong finish. Choi finished his day tied for 66th at 1 under; Webb Simpson is in 1st at 7 under; Kyoung-Hoon Lee, Cameron Tringale, and Rhein Gibson are tied for 2nd at 6 under; and Hank Lebioda, Sebastián Muñoz, Nick Taylor, Rory Sabbatini, Alex Cejka, Tyler Duncan, Brian Harman, Scott Brown, and Scott Harrington are tied for 5th at 5 under.
At the 192-yard par-3 17th, K.J. Choi got to the green in 2 and sunk a 40-foot putt to save par. This put K.J. Choi at 1 over for the round.
After a drive to the right side of the fairway on the 417-yard par-4 first hole, Choi had a 155 yard approach shot, setting himself up for the birdie. This moved Choi to even for the round.
At the 415-yard par-4 second, Choi reached the green in 2 and rolled a 37-foot putt for birdie. This put Choi at 1 under for the round.
After a drive to right side of the fairway on the par-5 seventh, Choi hit his 106 yard approach to 12 feet, setting himself up for a birdie. This moved Choi to 1 under for the round.
On the par-4 eighth, Choi's 87 yard approach to 12 feet set himself up for the birdie on the hole. This moved Choi to 2 under for the round.
At the 452-yard par-4 ninth, Choi got on in 2 and missed his par putt from 5 feet, finishing with a 3-putt bogey. This moved Choi to 1 under for the round.
