With plenty of TOUR winners in the field along with Korn Ferry Tour grads looking for valuable FedExCup points and exciting sponsor invites, it should be a great week on the Grand Strand as the PGA TOUR returns for the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.
Here’s everything you need to know as the event, played alongside the Truist Championship, is set to tee off for its second edition.
FIELD NOTES: Chris Gotterup returns as defending champion. Gotterup has turned things around impressively over the last few weeks after missing seven cuts in nine weeks at the beginning of 2025. Gotterup comes into his title defense after three straight top-20 finishes, including a season-best T12 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. … Joel Dahmen is back after falling short at the Corales Puntacana Championship in heartbreaking fashion. Dahmen finished one shot back of the winner, Garrick Higgo, after making three closing bogeys in a row Sunday. Dahmen missed the cut at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson but has three top-10 finishes so far in 2025. … Tom Kim is set to tee it up as he looks to earn some valuable FedExCup points. Kim has missed two of his last three cuts but notched a tie for seventh at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. … Mackenzie Hughes will tee it up looking to capitalize on some recent momentum. Hughes, who lives in Charlotte, has two top-10 finishes in his last three starts, including a T3 at the RBC Heritage. … Aaron Wise is set to make his first start on the PGA TOUR since the 2024 Puerto Rico Open. Wise has played four times on the Korn Ferry Tour this season as he has begun a comeback after a near two-year mental health break from professional golf. … Recently named U.S. Team Presidents Cup Captain Brandt Snedeker is set to tee it up along with International Team assistant captain from 2024, Camilo Villegas.

Byrd is the son of multi-time TOUR winner Jonathan Byrd, who also received an exemption. … Blades Brown returns to action in Myrtle Beach, now as a professional. Brown will be about two weeks shy of his 18th birthday when the tournament begins Thursday. This will be the teen's fifth TOUR start so far in 2025. He made the cut at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld. … Dillon Board, who played last season on the Korn Ferry Tour and finished 113th in the Points List, will make his PGA TOUR debut. … Alistair Docherty, who finished tied for second last year, is back in action. Docherty has had a steady season so far on the Korn Ferry Tour with two top-10 finishes. … 41-year-old Michael Feuerstein is also set to make his PGA TOUR debut. … Bill Haas will make his fifth start on TOUR this season. … Other sponsor exemptions include Korn Ferry Tour winner Evan Harmeling, plus Theo Humphrey, Trent Phillips and Davis Shore. … The final sponsor exemption will go to the winner of “The Q at Myrtle Beach,” Nathan Franks.
SIGNATURE EVENT STORYLINES: The next Signature Event is the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. It’s an important week for those eager to qualify as the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic marks the first of two qualifying events via the Aon Swing 5 with the Charles Schwab Challenge being the other.

The rest of the TOUR TOP 10 remained the same from last week.
FEDEXCUP: Winner receives 300 FedExCup points.
COURSE: The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, par 71, 7,347 yards. Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1948 – it was just the second golf course built in Myrtle Beach, now known the world over for its plentiful golf courses. The Dunes was renovated by Rees Jones in 2003, 2013, 2018 and 2023 while awaiting the first trip by the PGA TOUR. No. 8 will once again play as a par 4 (usually a par 5) while the renovation in 2023 included re-grassing and levelling all championship tees, building new championship tees on Nos. 1, 2, 6, 8 and 14, rebuilding lake edges on Nos. 1, 10 and 18, rebuilding the practice green and building a new chipping green and practice bunker.
Prior to last year, The Dunes did have some history with the TOUR. It hosted the PGA TOUR Champions season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship from 1994 to 1999 and was the host venue for Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School in 1973.
72-HOLE RECORD: 262, Chris Gotterup (2024)
18-HOLE RECORD: 61, Thorbjørn Olesen (final round, 2024)
LAST TIME: Chris Gotterup won for the first time on the PGA TOUR, capturing the inaugural ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic by an impressive six shots. Gotterup was up four to begin the final round.
