ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open: After traveling from competing in the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship, returned home to win the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open in front of a jubilant home crowd. It had been 14 years since a Kiwi hoisted the Brodie Breeze trophy. With rounds of 65-65-67-69, finished regulation play tied with fellow Kiwi Ben Campbell and Australian Brad Kennedy on 19-under. Required just one trip down the par-3 18th in the sudden death playoff to emerge victorious. Playing first, hit his tee shot safely to the center of the green while Campbell and Kennedy both found the water. When the pair was unable to get up and down for par, took two putts to win his first New Zealand Open title.
