About the CEO
BRIAN ROLAPP
The PGA TOUR Policy Board approved Brian Rolapp as the fifth Commissioner in PGA TOUR history on June 23, 2026, with his tenure set to formally commence on Jan. 1, 2027. Rolapp will succeed Jay Monahan as PGA TOUR Commissioner, who led the PGA TOUR over a 10-year period from 2017 to 2026.
Rolapp was first appointed Chief Executive Officer of the PGA TOUR in June of 2025, when he guided the TOUR through an overhaul of its competitive structure based on feedback from the Future Competition Committee. Set to debut in 2028, the new model will see the implementation of two compelling series of events – the PGA TOUR Championship Series and PGA TOUR Challenger Series – that will reshape how the best players in the world compete against each other on TOUR. Played at the worthiest courses for the highest stakes, and culminating in a true postseason that crowns the best golfer in the world, the new PGA TOUR will deliver significant benefits for stakeholders, including an easier-to-follow experience for fans, added value for partners and greater competitive clarity for players.
In January 2026, Rolapp also announced the launch of the Returning Member Program, designed to provide an alternative path back to PGA TOUR competition for past members who have achieved the highest accomplishments in the game. Later that year he helped bring together two of professional sports’ most impactful production entities – PGA TOUR Studios and NFL Films – for a rare look inside the TOUR’s flagship event, THE PLAYERS Championship, featuring unprecedented, mic’d up insights from PGA TOUR players competing at TPC Sawgrass.
Rolapp joined the TOUR after a 22-year career at the National Football League (NFL), where he most recently served as its Chief Media and Business Officer. In this role, Rolapp was responsible for the league’s commercial businesses, including broadcasting and media rights, while also leading 32 Equity, which makes investments on behalf of the league and its owners. He oversaw in March 2021 long-term agreements with media partners Amazon, CBS, ESPN/ABC, FOX and NBC, and helped devise and implement the next phase of NFL Sunday Ticket with YouTube after almost 25 years on a satellite service. Rolapp also drove NFL Network and NFL RedZone distribution deals with the country’s largest television providers and more recently launched NFL+, the NFL’s direct-to-consumer digital product. Before joining the NFL in 2003, Rolapp served as Director, Business Development for NBC Universal and prior to that was a member of the media investment banking team at CIBC World Markets.
Rolapp is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the Harvard Business School. He is a member of Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40: Hall of Fame. Rolapp and his wife Cindy have been married for almost 30 years and have four children – Drew, Will, Catherine and Ben.
