ORLANDO, Fla. -- Two days, two albatross'.
The latest one came from Zach Johnson, who knocked in his second shot on the par-5 16th from 205 yards with a 5-iron Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. It also took place as the tournament host was looking on.
"It was 5-8 yards left of my target," admitted Johnson, who high-fived fans along the ropes. "I'm trying to use the bank and let it go down in there, right of the pin. I hit it good."
A pair of bogeys to finish took some of the polish off an otherwise good day for Johnson, who shot 66 to finish at 12 under.
It was the second time Johnson has recorded an albatross. The other took place years ago in a casual round at nearby Heathrow Country Club when Johnson lived in Orlando. He shot 74 that day.
"Clearly a double eagle will make my game very rusty," he joked. "I got to work on that."
Saturday, Daniel Berger made a 2 on the par-5 sixth for the first in the history of the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard.
This marks the sixth time since 1983 there have been two albatross' in the same event on the PGA TOUR. There have been 121 total albatross' since 1970.
