• When he was a kid, tried to convince a cop to take his mom to jail because she was forcing him to hold her hand to cross the street.
• Most people back home know him as Chayote.
• Worked with his brother at a furniture company for a month during summer break when he was age 12.
• Started playing golf because he watched his dad and his older brother play local tournaments.
• Earliest golf memory is playing at age four with his siblings at the Club de Golf Malanquin.
• Will not use plastic tees when he plays.
• Loves to play Fortnite and Call of Duty.
• Shared the honor of 2020 St. Mary’s University’s Male Athlete of the Year with soccer player Emilio Gonzalez.

• Estrella del Mar Open 2022: Entered the final round at Estrella del Mar Golf & Beach in Mazatlan only two shots off the lead. Shot a final-round, 2-under 70 to T6 with Armando Favela and Anthony Paolucci, six strokes shy of winner Matt Ryan.
• PGA TOUR Latinoamerica Qualifying Tournament Mexico: Opened with a 6-under 65 at Estrella del Mar Resort in Mazatlan in November to finish T6 with four others. Earned PGA TOUR Latinoamérica membership and status into every tournament for the first half of the season.

2022 Season

Posted one top-10 in his seven made cuts during his 12-event PGA TOUR Latinoamerica season. Finished his season ranked No. 38 in the Totalplay Cup standings to keep his playing privileges for 2023.

2021 Season

• Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada Q-School-USA East 4: Finished 3-under for the week, good for a 14th-place finish at Callaway Gardens in early April. Earned conditional Mackenzie Tour status.

Amateur Highlights

• Won seven college tournaments at St. Mary’s University in Texas. Was a three-time Ping Division II All-American, a first-team choice his senior year.
• Represented Mexico at the Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship at Whispering Pines GC in Trinity, Texas.
• Shared St. Mary’s 2020 Male Athlete of the Year honors with soccer player Ollie Wright.
• Two wins his senior year came at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite in September 2018, also in Amarillo, and at the Las Vegas Desert Classic (won by two strokes).
• Won the 2019 St. Mary’s Rattler Invite for a second consecutive year, capturing the title as a junior in San Antonio by three strokes. That season, also won the Division II National Preview at Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Later that spring, in Amarillo, Texas, was the medalist at the NCAA Division II West-South Central Regional.
• As a sophomore, in Goodyear, Arizona, won the Western New Mexico University Fall Intercollegiate at The Wigwam and the St. Mary’s Rattler Invite.
