Vokey introduces limited-edition Slate Blue WedgeWorks T Grind
1 Min Read
Earlier this summer at The Open Championship, Vokey Tour rep Aaron Dill received a number of requests for one particular wedge grind at Carnoustie Golf Links.
With the course playing firm and fast, Cameron Smith, Charley Hoffman and a handful of other players inserted Vokey's popular T Grind lob wedge, believing the narrower forward bounce and minimal camber would allow them to pick the ball cleanly off the firm turf.
“When we arrived at Carnoustie and saw how firm and fast the course was playing, it was clear that the T Grind was going to be a great option," Dill said. "Bob [Vokey] crafted the T Grind to have low bounce that can be easily manipulated while keeping the leading edge close to the turf. It really excels when faced with those hard, unforgiving lies.”
Vokey's latest limited edition WedgeWorks offering comes with the same T Grind profile players used a Carnoustie in a new "Slate Blue" finish. The finish is as durable as Tour Chrome and features a mirror polish with hints of blue and gray.
Each WedgeWorks T Grind can be customized with up to 10 characters and one of 12 paintfill colors. A selection of shafts, grips, shaft bands, toe engravings and ferrules are also offered.
Vokey's WedgeWorks Limited 60-degree T Grind retails for $250 and is available on Vokey.com or by custom order.
