Phil Mickelson came within a lip-out birdie of becoming the first player in major championship history to shoot 62. His record-tying, 8-under 63 was good enough for the clubhouse lead after the first round at Royal Troon.
Using the same Callaway X Forged '13 irons and Odyssey Versa #9 putter he had in the bag when he won the 2013 Open Championship, Mickelson picked the course apart on Thursday, hitting 89 percent of his greens in regulations and converting eight of his birdie opportunities during a bogey-free round.
"I felt like it was kind of easy," Mickelson said. "I didn't try to do too much."
Here's a look at the rest of the Callaway clubs in Mickelson's bag.
