With his victory at the Barracuda Championship, Greg Chalmers became a PGA TOUR winner in his 386th start after entering the week as the active player with the most starts without a win.
Chalmers became the first Titleist staffer to win using the company's 917D2 prototype driver that debuted last week at Quicken Loans National.
“I got that new driver, the [917D] and I gained some yardage and started driving it straighter and I drove it beautifully,” said Chalmers.
He finished the week T6 in strokes gained: off-the-tee (plus 3.888) with the new driver.
In addition to the strong driving performance, Chalmers led the field in strokes gained: putting, picking up a combined 10.5 shots over four days with a Bobby Grace Amazing Grace putter.
