Ashworth Golf will honor former Open Championship winners Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard with limited edition shirts commemorating their victories at Turnberry (2007) and Royal Troon (1997).
Made from premium fabrics and unique contrast threads, each Major Series shirt incorporates details from the player's triumph, including their signature embroidered inside the back neck and the date of the victory stamped on the second button. Each shirt in the Major Series is also individually numbered to match the player's winning score.
Cink's signature blue shirt is limited to 278 pieces (winning score at Turnberry) and has contrast threading and piping along with Ashworth's Majors Series patch on the right sleeve.
“Ever since I’ve started wearing Ashworth, the fit and feel have become exactly what I’m looking for in my apparel," said Cink. “I’m truly humbled that Ashworth has created a piece honoring my major championship victory and I’m honored to wear it at The Open Championship in July.”
Leonard’s commemorative shirt is limited to 272 pieces (winning score at Royal Troon) and includes similar design elements to Cink's shirt with the contrast threading and piping. A left chest pocket and Ashworth's Majors Series patch also feature prominently on the shirt.
"Ashworth is relaxed, classic and timeless; everything I want in my apparel when I play," said Leonard. "To have a shirt designed specifically to commemorate one of the greatest days of my career is remarkable, and I’m proud to wear it as I look to win my second major championship this summer."
Cink and Leonard plan to wear their limited edition Ashworth shirts during the first round of play at the 143rd Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. Both shirts will be available at ashworthgolf.com and retail for $100.
