Henrik Stenson will open the 2014 season as a Callaway staffer, after coming to terms on a multi-year deal that will see him continue to use the company's clubs and sport the chevron logo on his bag.
Stenson is coming off a career year that saw him earn more than $12 million on the course — including an additional $10 million bonus for winning the FedExCup title — and become the first golfer to capture the PGA TOUR's season-long FedExCup and the European Tour's Race to Dubai titles in the same season.
"After having the best season of my career to date in 2013 using Callaway irons and fairway woods, the option of extending my relationship with Callaway Golf was a very natural progression," Stenson said. "I look forward to continued success in 2014 being back as part of the Callaway family."
While it normally takes most players time to get acclimated to new equipment, Stenson won't have to deal with a learning curve at the beginning of the season.
The Swede used a bag comprised mostly of Callaway products last year, including a Diablo Octane Tour 3-wood, X Hot Pro 5-wood and Legacy Black irons (3-PW) that are currently available primarily in Asian markets.
