Fred Couples will continue to sport ECCO shoes and the company's logo on the course going forward, after the Danish-based manufacturer announced a multi-year extension with the 2013 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee on Tuesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Couples, who wears ECCO's BIOM Hybrid collection and has the company's logo on the left side of his Bridgestone cap, has been endorsing ECCO since 2006.

“Before ECCO, I was always a very traditional shoe guy, but now really all I put on are the Golf Street and BIOM Hybrid styles,” Couples said in an ECCO release. “They’ve both got a great look, are so comfortable and provide the traction and stability I need when competing. Plus, I love that I can wear them all the way from my house to the golf course and back. I’m looking forward to playing many more years in my ECCOs.”

Couples has been a key player in the rise of the non-cleated golf shoe movement over the last few years and put ECCO's Golf Street footwear on the map when he wore the shoe at the 2010 Masters.

ECCO has increased its stable of golfers over the years to include Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Belen Mozo, Stuart Appleby, Marcel Siem and Thongchai Jaidee.

“Fred’s been an amazing ambassador and for eight years has played a huge role in strengthening our position among the world’s most admired footwear brands,” says Jesper Thuen, ECCO Global Sponsorship and PR Manager – Golf. “In 2010, his choice to wear Golf Street at the Masters sparked the hybrid revolution that has forever altered the global footwear market.”
