Gainey's new Callaway X Hot irons

By Jonathan Wall, PGATOUR.COM Equipment Insider
Tommy Gainey added new Callaway woods to the bag early in the season, but at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, the 2012 McGladrey Classic champion decided to shift his focus to his irons.
Early in the week at Pebble Beach, Callaway Tour Reps fit Gainey into a new set of X Hot Pro irons (4-PW) with 6.0 Project X shafts and Lamkin cross line grips.
Gainey had been playing a set of RAZR X Forged irons but liked the higher trajectory and turf interaction that the X Hot irons produced. Due to Gainey's angle of attack, reps also added additional bounce to the leading edge of each iron.
