GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum, through the generous support of the Bob & Dolores Hope Charitable Foundation, opened "Bob Hope: An American Treasure" at a ceremony on Sept. 29 at the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame & Museum in Green Bay, Wis.

The 2,500-square foot exhibition begins its five-year tour at the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, located inside historic Lambeau Field. The exhibition officially opens to the public on Oct. 1.

"It's been an honor and privilege to work with the Bob & Dolores Hope Charitable Foundation on this project," said Jack Peter, World Golf Hall of Fame Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "For the Hall of Fame to be able to extend its message to major institutions and markets over the course of the next five years and tell the story of one of the world's greatest ambassadors is a wonderful opportunity. We couldn't be more pleased with the exhibit."

"Bob Hope: An American Treasure" will feature more than 160 artifacts, including Hope's Congressional Gold Medal, honorary Oscar statuette, Honorary Veterans citation, and PGA of America money clip. More than 200 vintage photos and seven video displays will tell the story about Hope's early years as part of an immigrant family in the early 20th century, his rise as a star of stage, screen and radio, the relationships he had with U.S. presidents, his devotion to the U.S. military and his love of golf.

"The Hope family is thrilled to see Bob on the road again," said Linda Hope, daughter of the entertainer. "We hope that this fine new exhibit will perpetuate his legacy and create new young fans who will be inspired by his talent, hard work and desire to give back to his country. Something he felt we all could do."

Following a three-month engagement in Green Bay through Jan. 1, "Bob Hope: An American Treasure" will travel to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library & Museum in Grand Rapids, MI, for a Feb. 8 - June 10, 2012 exhibition. The tour is scheduled to continue through 2015.

"The Green Bay Packers are excited to host this exhibit at Lambeau Field in the Packers Hall of Fame," said Mark Murphy, Packers President/CEO. "Bob Hope was a noted sports fan who entertained millions during his career and brought happiness to soldiers across the world. Many Packers fans and other visitors to Lambeau Field have an appreciation for sports other than football and will enjoy the golf highlights of this exhibit, and also have the opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for Hope's great legacy."
