This is a special tournament for the PGA TOUR Champions field, where the top 54 players in the Charles Schwab Cup standings will tee it up at Sherwood Country club to compete for the Charles Schwab Cup title. There’s also plenty to do besides watch golf as the tournament features local food, drinks and entertainment options. Here’s what you need to know:
Located between 11 tee and 16 green, fans can take a break from watching the likes of Bernhard Langer and Colin Montgomerie to enjoy local LA favorites.
Ventura BBQ: For the BBQ lovers, try the pulled pork sandwich, redneck tacos, or BBQ nachos, paired with some mac n' cheese or baked beans.
Mamma Italy: A food option that appeals to the Italian within us all, stop by Mamma Italy for a taste of Italian street food on wheels.
Baby's Badass Burgers: Baby's Badass Burgers reflect the personality of founder Erica Cohen, who "had been searching for the perfect, quintessential cheeseburger since [she] was a little girl" - until she finally decided to build it on her own.
Craft Beer Garden presented by 10 Barrel Brewery:Located on 9th Green. Stop by and enjoy a craft beer in a fun atmosphere with great views of golf. Open to the public.
Grey Goose Bar: Located in the Archer's Club on the Driving Range. 21 years and older. Proper credentials required.
Located at the Driving Range. Get playing tips at the Southern California PGA Lesson Zone and putt for a chance to win a Philip Stein gift.
Autograph Zone: Stop by the Putting Green near the 1st tee on tournament days. As the players finish signing their scorecard during competitive rounds, they usually spend a few minutes signing autographs and interacting with fans.
Takes place Thursday, October 25th. As a public celebration and kick-off to tournament week, the Sherwood Cares Foundation will be hosting a Community Champions day that is open to the public and complimentary for all to attend. Takes place at Sherwood Country Club on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 7:15 a.m. Runners and walkers of all abilities to race around the picturesque front nine of the course with all net proceeds benefiting FOOD Share. Adult registrants will receive two grounds tickets to the 2018 Invesco QQQ Championship for either Saturday or Sunday with their $30 race entry fee, along with an official event t-shirt. Takes place Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 5:15 p.m. on the Croquet Lawn. After the last putt drops on Saturday, head to the Croquet Lawn for a live performance by Fleetwood Mac cover band, Twisted Gypsy. The band will play from 5:15-6:15 p.m.
As an added bonus, the Sherwood Country Club Clubhouse will be opening its doors to all ticketholders at 3:00 p.m. in preparation for the concert. Guests are invited to enjoy the spectacular views, grab a bite from Mama Italy’s food truck and hang on the Croquet Lawn before the show starts.
