David Pastore carded 10 birdies through 27 holes of play to take possession of the lead at the 69th ECP Brazil Open. Pastore was T2 after shooting a bogey-free first round and took the lead after making back-to-back birdies on Nos. 17 and 18 to cap-off a 3-under 33 on the front-nine of his second round.

The Greenwich, Connecticut, native claimed his maiden victory on PGA TOUR Canada at the 2016 Niagara Championship. In addition to his victory, Pastore made 46 career starts on PGA TOUR Canada, made 35 cuts and recorded 13 top-10 finishes.

The 69th ECP Brazil Open was officially shortened to 54-holes on Friday. After rainfall and unplayable course conditions delayed the start of the first round on Thursday by 6 hours, 20 minutes, the PGA TOUR Americas Rules Committee determined that it was not possible to play 36 holes on Sunday due to lack of daylight and shortened the tournament.

Per PGA TOUR Americas regulations, if an event consists of at least 54 holes, the tournament will be considered official and Fortinet Cup points will be awarded. Play was officially suspended at 5:25 p.m. due to darkness and will resume at 8:15 a.m. local time on Saturday.
