The Willow Creek Country Club in Salt Lake County is nestled at the
base of the Wasatch Mountains. The 7,104 yard layout has hosted the
Utah Open for over 15 years.
The club was founded in 1957 when 25 Salt Lakers purchased
166 acres of ground in suburban Sandy for $150,000. Today that
might buy a modest housing lot in the Willow Creek area. The club
members have never been self satisfied. The philosophy has always
been keep improving. As a result the club house is one of the
largest and best appointed of any private club in Utah and indeed
the Intermountain area. Continual upgrades and improvements to the
course have not only enhanced its beauty and condition, they have
increased its difficulty.
Currently overseeing operations are General Manager Alex
Nicolaidis, Golf Professional Eric Nielsen and Grounds
Superintendent Troy VanDenBerghe.
