John Schwarb is the Web.com Insider and a PGATOUR.COM contributor. Each week, Schwarb will size up the field and provide his top 5 players going into the tournament based on factors such as the player's strengths, the course setup, recent performances, etc.

The Web.com Tour’s opening swing through Central and South America ends with the event that started it last year.

The Panama Claro Championship kicked off the 2013 season but was pushed back this year due to some work on the greens at Panama Golf Club. Whether that will lead to a few more birdies remains to be seen.

Panama GC is a par 70 and par was protected fairly well last year, with Kevin Foley winning at 8 under and scores as high as 2 under earning a top-10 finish. That’s quite the contrast with last week at the Brasil Champions Presented by HSBC, where 25 under won and 2 under through 36 holes wasn’t enough to make the weekend.

Now three-for-three on top 10s with a T9 in Brazil to go with second in Colombia and T6 in Chile. “Seems to be playing decent,” brother Michael modestly tweeted.

Said the course at Brasil Champions was love at first sight, and consequently won at 25 under. If he loves Panama GC, what kind of encore might he have in store?

Chances to defend a tournament title are rare on Tour, but the 2013 Panama Claro winner is back. Best finish in four PGA TOUR starts this season is a T35 at AT&T Pebble Beach.

Fourth-place finish at Brasil Champions lifted him to eighth on the early money list; six of his last seven rounds have been 67 or lower.
