PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Tour Championship, along with Universal Music Group, announced that country music star Scotty McCreery will be performing at TPC Sawgrass on Friday, September 19 following second-round play. The Tour Championship is the culminating event of the Tour season and returns to Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass from September 18-21.

In October 2013, Scotty McCreery launched his second consecutive No. 1-debuting album with sophomore release, See You Tonight. See You Tonight’s Top 10 title track marks McCreery’s third RIAA Gold-certified single as an artist and his first as a writer. On the album, McCreery continues to showcase his bass voice while perfectly blending contemporary and traditional country to create an irresistible sound unique to the young college student.

Since his 2011 debut, McCreery has become one of country music’s hottest new stars with album sales topping 1.6 million. His Platinum-selling debut album, Clear As Day, made Billboard history by debuting No. 1 on the Top 200 chart – a first for a country artist on their first studio album and making McCreery the youngest man of any genre to open at the top of the chart. Clear As Day helped McCreery earn Best New Artist recognition from the Academy of Country Music, American Country Awards and CMT Music Awards. McCreery has played for President Obama, sang the national anthem at the World Series, performed in the Macy’s Day Parade, played for thousands from coast to coast, and has become a favorite of all ages due to the universal appeal of his music, his warmth, and his all-American values.

“As a golf fan, I’m beyond excited to come to TPC Sawgrass and play at the Tour Championship,” said McCreery. “I know it’ll be a fun stop on my tour for me, and for my fans.”

The Friday night concert will once again be presented by Legacy Trust Family Wealth Offices, a Founding Partner of the Tour Championship. All Friday tickets to the Tour Championship act as admission for the Scotty McCreery concert, which will take place on the back lawn of the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse.

Legacy Trust CEO and Chairman, Kristin McLauchlan shared, “It is important to us that local companies step up and support this event, and we are thrilled once again to be sponsoring the tournament as well as the concert. Scotty is a great fit for our community, and seeing such a high level of golfers playing for their PGA TOUR cards is inspiring.”

The Tour Championship will feature the top-75 money winners at the end of the Tour regular season as well as the PGA TOUR players who finish 126-200 on the FedExCup points. All PGA TOUR cards will be finalized at the Tour Championship, making the Tour the path to the PGA TOUR.
