Nationwide Tour Wives Host "Fill the Cart with Fun"July 16, 2010

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Nationwide Tour Wives Association (NTWA) is partnering with the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational to "Fill the Cart with Fun!" The NTWA and tournament organizers are inviting tournament attendees to team up to help fill golf carts with as many toys and children's items as possible to benefit the patients of the Pediatric Cancer Unit at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Tournament attendees are encouraged to bring things they can drop off at the main entry gate upon their arrival during tournament week, July 19-25. Donations shipped for receipt by July 21st to the following address will be gladly accepted:

Cash donations will be accepted prior to or at the "Fill the Cart with Fun" event during tournament week.
Suggested items include: new pajamas (infant to size 16, high-need item), board games, card games, fleece blankets, scrapbooking items, arts and crafts items, and slippers (indoor, non-skid).
In related news, the tournament will host a free Junior Clinic on Friday, July 23 open to kids of all ages and skill levels on the Ohio State University Golf Club Driving Range from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m ET. The clinic will feature appearances by Brutus Buckeye and both local teaching professionals and Nationwide Tour professionals will provide personalized instruction to all junior participants. Free give-aways will be given to the first 500 kids in attendance, including any day tickets to the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational, Jeni's Ice Cream and more.
Other events of note at the 2010 tournament include two pro-am's, the Copart Celebrity Pro-Am hosted by Clark Kellogg on Monday, July 19 and the Official Tournament Pro-Am presented by Rosetta played on Wednesday, July 21. Birdie Time Tastes Great returns to the patio at the 13th hole this year where all day Thursday through Sunday Miller Light beer specials are available for 15 minutes every time a birdie is scored. For 2010 the patio at hole No. 13 will feature free drawings throughout the day and Skills Challenges following play. A NASCAR Simulator will be onsite Thursday through Sunday so fans can try to "Out Drive the Pro" to win prizes. Beat the times posted by Nationwide Tour professionals and win! Free Golf Lessons will be offered to fans on the main driving range Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. ET. Jeni's Ice Creams Day will return on Saturday, July 24 to give away free ice cream from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. near the main admissions. Also near the putting green Chris Cakes will offer a free pancake breakfast on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to noon ET. Try your luck catching pancakes flipped from distances up to 30 feet.
In addition, from Thursday to Sunday the tournament will host the Nationwide Children's Hospital Putting Challenge presented by Carrabba's Italian Grill. The contest will be conducted on the putting green located next to the main entrance gate. The cost will be $2.00 for one putt or $5.00 for three putts with one winner each day receiving free golf balls and $90 to Carrabba's. The grand prize winner will receive a foursome at TPC Sawgrass, including hotel and airfare, and the chance on Sunday, July 25 at 2:30 p.m. ET to putt for a three-year lease of a Lexus IS-230C from Germain Lexus of Dublin.
The fourth annual Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational will feature a purse of $800,000, the fourth largest on the Nationwide Tour. The Golf Channel will broadcast 9½ hours of coverage from Thursday's opening round to the trophy presentation on Sunday. The Invitational will be played July 19-25 at The Ohio State University Golf Club - Scarlet Course, rated as the top collegiate golf course in the country by Golf Digest. The Tournament integrates the top professionals on the Nationwide Tour with the top players from the collegiate ranks to create a unique field of 144 of the best up and coming players in the United States.
