PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Justin Rose has withdrawn from The Honda Classic, citing continuing tendinitis in his right shoulder.

He has been battling the injury all year and it forced him to miss the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and the Farmers Insurance Open.

Rose returned two weeks ago at the Northern Trust Open, where he tied for 45th, before losing to Ernie Els in the second round of the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.

The reigning U.S. Open champ originally hurt his shoulder tossing a ball to his caddie at The Barclays last August.

Rose is hopeful for next week's World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship, where he won two years ago.
