LA JOLLA, Calif. -- K.J. Choi did his part. Now he'll have to wait to see if he did enough.
Choi carded a 6-under 66 Sunday on Torrey Pines' South Course, giving himself the early clubhouse lead at 8 under in the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open.
Three others are also at 8 under but still have holes to play. Another six players are a shot back -- Charley Hoffman is the only of from that group who is finished.
This isn't the first time Choi has had success here. Last year, he held a share of the first-round lead after a 65 on the South Course. He went on to finish in a six-way tie for ninth.
Should Choi's score hold up, it would be his first PGA TOUR victory since the 2011 PLAYERS Championship.
