The Farmers Insurance Open hosted the fourth annual University Day competition, where PGA TOUR players were encouraged to wear their college colors in support of their alma mater. With a score of 5-under 67, Andres Romero won $10,000 for the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Graham DeLaet (Boise State), Rory Sabbatini (University of Arizona), Brian Stuard (Oakland University) and Ryo Ishikawa (GCAA) tied for second place with a score of 3-under 69, each receiving $1,500 for their college golf teams.

Nearly 50 of the players in the field dressed in their university gear including Tiger Woods (Stanford University), Jordan Spieth (University of Texas), Keegan Bradley (St. John’s) and Bubba Watson (University of Georgia). Every player who wore their college colors will receive $500 to their school on behalf of Farmers Insurance.

Farmers Insurance will donate more than $50,000 in support of Saturday’s competition and the University Day Challenge glass break competition, where Keegan Bradley emerged victorious and earned $10,000 for St. Johns.
