2014 season looks pivotal for Duval

As he tries to piece together a schedule for 2014, David Duval may have something else on his mind: Will this be my final year on the PGA TOUR?

Duval, a 13-time winner and former World No. 1, sent out a series of tweets Tuesday evening suggesting that 2014 would be a make-or-break year. Although he remains confident about the work he's putting in with instructor Chris O'Connell, Duval has made just five of his last 28 cuts on TOUR. His world ranking has dropped to No. 1,521.

"As a player you need to perform and if I don't do that in 2014 I will do something else," the 42-year-old tweeted.

It's unclear what that "something else" may be, but Duval, who played 11 events in 2013 on sponsor exemptions and past champions status, has also worked as an analyst for ESPN's major championship coverage in the past.
