Jack Nicklaus' grandson, Nick O'Leary, has 509 yards receiving and seven touchdowns this season.

Jack Nicklaus has connections to the top two teams in the Bowl Championship Series standings, but he's made it clear which team he will root for should both reach the BCS National Championship Game.

"I’m an Ohio State guy, but blood is thicker than anything else,” he said. Nicklaus is an alum of No. 2 Ohio State, but his grandson, Nick O'Leary, is a tight end for No. 1 Florida State. O'Leary, a junior, is fourth on the team with 509 receiving yards. He has scored seven touchdowns in 2013, third-best on the team.

Florida State and Ohio State will play for the national title Jan. 6 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., if they can win their respective conference championship games Saturday. The Seminoles will play No. 20 Duke for the Atlantic Coast Conference title at 8 p.m. in Charlotte, N.C. The Buckeyes will play No. 10 Michigan State for the Big Ten title in Indianapolis.
