If there's anyone who can understand what Lindsey Vonn underwent in her return from a devastating knee injury to competitive skiing, it's boyfriend Tiger Woods.
Asked on Monday during an interview with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show what Vonn has learned from Woods since the two began dating earlier this year, she said, "Patience."
"I’m not a very patient person," she continued. "He is very patient. He's very mentally tough and he's a grinder. He works extremely hard and he obviously also had an ACL injury, had the same surgery. He knew what I was going through. He just said, 'Be patient, keep working hard, and everything is going to turn around.' It really helped me get through it."
Vonn tore her ACL at the World Championships in February, while Woods underwent reconstructive surgery on his left knee following his victory at the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.
