SAN MARTIN, Calif. -- One week after competing in his first Presidents Cup, Hideki Matsuyama posted his best career finish on the PGA TOUR.
Matsuyama, No. 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking, birdied his final three holes Sunday to shoot 66 and finish T-3 at 14-under 270 (70-66-68-66). He earned his PGA TOUR membership for the 2013-14 season by finishing in the top-25 in all six of his TOUR starts as a professional. His best finish was T-6 at The Open Championship. He also won three times on the Japan Tour this year.
He is scheduled to play the next three PGA TOUR events: the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, CIMB Classic and World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions before closing the year with starts on the Japan Tour.
