Simpson-Haas (U.S.) def. Cabrera-Grace (Int'l), 4 & 3

Great stuff

Bill Haas hits his second shot on the par-4 ninth hole to a foot.

DUBLIN, Ohio -- The American duo of Bill Haas and Webb Simpson rolled past the International duo of Angel Cabrera and Branden Grace, 4 & 3, in Saturday's Four-ball match at The Presidents Cup.

Haas and Grace exchanged birdies on the first two holes, but at the par-4 sixth, the Americans took control of the match. Haas birdied the hole, with Simpson following with a birdie at the par-5 seventh to win that hole. Grace got one back for the Internationals with a birdie at the eighth, but the Americans responsed by winning the next two holes. A Simpson birdie at the 13th had the U.S. 4-up and they closed out the match two holes later. Haas had eight birdies on his own ball, with Simpson adding four birdies in a display of firepower that Cabrera and Grace could not match.

Bill Haas. Of his eight birdies, he won the hole outright on six of them. "Bill played some great golf," his partner Simpson said. "It was fun to watch."
