Match recap: Woods-Kuchar (U.S.) def. Oosthuizen-Schwartzel (Int'l) 4 and 2

Woods, Kuchar interview

Tiger Woods and Matt Kuchar discuss their victory over Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen in foursomes.

DUBLIN, Ohio -- In a battle of two titan teams, Americans Tiger Woods and Matt Kuchar remained undefeated at The Presidents Cup as they took a 4-and-2 victory over Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen.

The Americans won the fjirst hole after Woods staked his approach to 23 inches for a tap-in birdie and never were headed in the well-played match. Starting at the third hole, the U.S. duo reeled off five straight birdies but only one of those -- Woods' 11-footer at the sixth hole -- was for a win. The Internationals won the eighth hole when Schwartzel made a 7-footer for birdie but promptly gave that back on the next so the Americans went to the back nine 2 up. The U.S. Team won the 12th hole with a bogey before Kuchar closed the match out wiith a 13-footer for birdie at No. 16.

Tiger Woods. It's hard to pick just one here since both Americans played extremely well -- particularly during that birdie streak -- but the world No. 1 was solid in every aspect of the game.
