Steven Fox turned professional on Friday.
The 2012 U.S. Amateur champion was a three-time All-Southern Conference selection while at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
The 22-year-old made nine starts on the PGA TOUR this year while still an amateur, missing the cut in all of them, including in the year's first three majors.
Fox's best result this year came at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, where he shot 71-69 to finish even par but still missed the cut.
Fox had an improbable run to the U.S. Amateur title last year at Cherry Hills, where he upset then-world No. 1 amateur Chris Wlliams 4 and 2 along the way.
