JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Tiger Woods has just hit his approach at Liberty National's 13th hole and the problematic back injury flared up with a vengence.
As soon as Woods finished his swing, he leaned heavily on his golf club, then sank down to his knees and eventually ended up on all fours, his palms resting on the ground. The ball, meanwhile, went well left into the water.
Woods conferred with Slugger White, the vice president of rules and competitions for the PGA TOUR, to determine where his ball crossed the hazard. He hit his fourth shot to 34 feet and two-putted from 34 feet for what is just his third bogey in 172 career par 5s.
