Woods seeks 20th win prior to major

AKRON, Ohio -- A win at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational would be the fifth of the 2013 season for Tiger Woods, as well as the 79th of his career and his 18th in the global series.

Not to mention make Woods, who takes a seven-stroke lead into the final round at Firestoine, the favorite to finally snap that major championship victory drought of more than five years at next week's PGA Championship.

A win at the Bridgestone Invitational would be Woods' 20th victory in his final start before a major -- and the fourth that came in the preceeding week. But that doesn't always mean success at the upcoming major, Tiger has only won four of golf's crown jewels after winning in his previous start and only once when that win has come the previous week.
