AUGUSTA, Ga. -- No Australian has ever won the Masters. Will Marc Leishman break the drought?
He's certainly off to a good start, shooting a 6-under 66 in Thursday's first round that gave him the clubhouse lead when he finished.
Leishman, last year's winner of the Travelers Championship, was 1 under at the turn. But he birdied the 10th hole, then strung together four consecutive birdies starting at the par-5 13th to get to 6 under in just his second Masters start.
That's two shots better than David Lynn, who finished with a 68. Jim Furyk, playing in his 17th Masters, shot a 69.
> Tiger Woods is a bogey-free 3 under through 13 holes
> Sergio Garcia is off to a fast start; he's 3 under through six holes
> Phil Mickelson is even par through four holes and Rory McIlroy is 1 under through three
> 14-year-old Guan Tianlang is 1 over through eight holes
