ORLANDO, Fla. -- John Rollins is the first player to get to 4 under after a birdie on the par-5 fourth hole -- his 13th of the day.
Though Rollins has the early lead, he has plenty of company stacking up behind him. A half-dozen others are one stroke back, including Ryo Ishikawa, Justin Rose and Geoff Ogilvy.
The Florida Swing has treated Ogilvy much better than the beginning of the year did. After missing four straight cuts, Ogilvy finished second at The Honda Classic before a tie for 47th at Doral and a 61st at Tampa.
Ogilvy got out to a fast start Thursday with three birdies in his first five holes. He added one more and turned in 33 before making a couple of pars on the first two holes on the front nine at Bay Hill.
The Aussie came into the week 50th in the world and is hoping to stay inside that number by the end of next week to qualify for the Masters.
Other notables in red early at Bay Hill: Lee Westwood (2 under), Erik Compton (2 under), Tiger Woods (1 under), Jason Dufner (1 under), Graeme McDowell (1 under) and Ian Poulter (1 under).
