LA JOLLA, Calif. -- A 7-foot birdie putt on the 10th hole has returned Tiger Woods' lead at the Farmers Insurance Open to four strokes.
Woods, a six-time winner of the PGA TOUR event at Torrey Pines, is 3 under for the day and 14 under for the tournament. He has hit 6 of 8 fairways and 8 of 10 greens in regulation so far while taking just 16 putts.
Nick Watney, the 2009 Farmers Insurance Open champ, and TOUR rookie Brad Fritsch continue to give chase. Watney is 3 under through 11 holes while Fritsch has played 10 in 2 under.
Defending champion Brandt Snedeker, who had a disappointing 75 in the second round, has worked his way back into the top 10. He has just finished off a 69 but has considerable ground to make up at 7 under for the tournament.
