Tee times are out for the first round of the Humana Challenege in partnership with the Clinton Foundation.Two pros will play with two amateurs from the pro-am portion of the event. Here is a look at some of the notable pairings for the opening round:
Davis Love III-Zach Johnson: The
Sea Island, Ga., neighbors both missed the cut in Hawaii last week and
are looking to bounce back in the desert. Love is playing in the event
for the first time since 2006, while Johnson tied for eighth last year.
David Toms-Webb Simpson:
Toms is making his season debut at PGA West, while Simpson is coming off
a tie for 11th in the season-opener and a tie for 20th at Waialae.
Phil Mickelson-Matt Kuchar: For
the second straight year, Mickelson is opening his season at PGA West
-- last year he tied for 49th. Kuchar finished ninth at Kapalua and was
22nd here a year ago.
Kyle Stanley-Bill Haas: Stanley
finished dead last in the winners-only opener, but he has won in the
desert before (Phoenix, last year). Haas won this event in 2010 and lost
in a playoff the following year.
Russell Henley-Bo Van Pelt: Last year, Van Pelt had 10 top 10s, including a runner-up. Henley? He won in Hawaii last week in his first start as a member of the PGA TOUR.
