I've had Tim Clark circled as my one-and-done at the Sony Open in Hawaii ever since he proved that he was back for good last year.
In his past 10 rounds at Waialae, he's averaged 67.30 with a pair of 64s in the final round (2009, 2011). Recovery from elbow surgery prevented his fourth consecutive appearance last year. He was a co-runner-up in 2011.
Other tracks like Pebble Beach, Colonial and Sedgefield have treated the South African kindly, so you'll have other opportunities to pounce, but there are no guarantees that he'll compete at any of those sites. This is why I'm hopping aboard now.
If you're going to holster him, consider Charles Howell III as a proper alternative. He hasn't missed a cut in 11 appearances, six of which have resulted in a top five. He's on the fringe of one-and-done value, and probably won't crack this conversation again.
