Jason Kokrak says his biggest thrill in golf is winning
back-to-back state high school championships. That could change by
tonight. Kokrak (pronounced COKE-rack) is playing so well
that's he's only one shot back of leader Jonas Blixt at the
Frys.com Open. Needless to say, a first PGA TOUR victory would go a
long way. Kokrak entered this week No. 167 on the money list and a
victory would give him among other things, a two-year exemption on
TOUR. A second-place tie would bump him to around the top 130.
The top 125 money leaders earn TOUR cards for 2013. Kokrak, who
states his high school success as his biggest thrill in the media
guide, has made 11 of 25 cuts this season. His lone top 25 was a T9
at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
