Anthony Kim will be out of competition on the PGA TOUR for the next
nine to 12 months after have surgery on the Achilles tendon in his
left leg.
Kim injured the tendon doing sprints in training in San Diego.
He had surgery on the following day, June 30, and will be in a boot
for four months. Kim last played in the Wells Fargo Championship,
where he picked his breakthrough win in 2008. He withdrew after the
first round at Quail Hollow due to pain in his right wrist and
elbow, as well as his left thumb which required surgery two years
earlier.
