Tough day for defending champion Harrison Frazar. He shot a 10-over
80, ending his round with a triple bogey at the ninth hole (his
finishing hole). Frazar’s round included that triple, a
double bogey, seven bogeys and two birdies. In winning last year,
Frazar suffered just one double and four bogeys in 72 holes in
regulation. It’s the 11th time in 1,177 career rounds that
Frazar has shot 80 or higher, and just the fourth time he has shot
10 over or worse in a round (his career-worst round is a 12-over 82
in the final round of the 2007 U.S. Open).
