SAN FRANCISCO -- It hasn't been the most productive week for Rickie Fowler, but Saturday's third round at least gave him something positive to build on.
Unlike his previous two days, Fowler did not suffer a double bogey on the front side of the Olympic Club. On Thursday, he doubled the par-4 fifth, and on Friday, he doubled the par-4 first and par-3 eighth.
But on Saturday, he started his round with eight consecutive pars before dropping a shot at the ninth. He then put together another par string of six holes, then birdied the par-5 16th for the second conecutive day.
He found trouble at the par-5 17th, a hole he had birdied the first two rounds, to drop another shot.
